If you develop software for business, whether on site at your client companies or as a commercial firm, your application needs to address logging in users and the enforcement of varying access rights based on their job functions. In addition, due to the proliferation of family-unfriendly organizations and individuals on the Internet, parents expect the software you develop for them to allow them to restrict certain sites from their curious children. This, too, requires that you enforce a level of access for the parents that is different from the children. The Workgroup and User Security Subsystem helps you design and implement your application's security needs. Figure 13.1 shows a typical model for this subsystem. |
